Thank you for choosing St James’ as the school for your child. Starting school involves a big change for your child and family. We are delighted that your child will be joining our school’s Reception class in September and we are looking forward to getting, to know them! It can be a time of great excitement, but also a time of potential challenge and stress. To ensure the transition to primary school is smooth for your child and they make a successful start we would normally have arranged a new intake evening, home visit, nursery visit and stay and play session to help your child get to know us and get used to the school. Due to the current COVID-19 situation, we have been unable to offer these events this year, however, our Early Years team are putting together a virtual tour of our school where you will meet some of the staff and have a walk through the Early Years classroom and outside provision. We hope to bring this to you very soon.
Starting school should be a happy and exciting time for both your child and for you. We know that you will have lots of questions to ask us and hope the information that we add to this page will begin to answer at least some of those questions.
Please do not hesitate to talk to us if you have any further questions.
