Year 5 Science
As part of our Science topic, Year 5 took part in a day of learning about space.
We started our morning with a journey to Mars! We had to carefully study photographs of the surface of the planet and discuss where would be the best place to land our spacecraft, considering sites for both safety and for scientific research (just like real space scientists and engineers!).
Once landed, we studied different soil samples to see which was most like Mars soil and tested to see if there was any evidence of life. We also coded Mars Rovers and created our very own Mars-copters! We finished the day back on Earth with a very exciting visit to the WonderDome planetarium.
