Year 3

This is an exciting year at St James as our children develop their independence, resilience and confidence as learners across the curriculum and encounter exciting topics as part of our curriculum. On this page, we will share our class news and celebrate our children’s fantastic work.

Class Information

PE
Children must ensure that their PE kits are in school for their PE lessons every Monday and Tuesday.

Homework
Our children are set English and Maths homework each week on Fridays.

Year 3 are also set spellings to be revised for a test weekly. These spellings are provided each Friday and will be tested on the following Friday.

Reading
It is essential that children read at home at least four times per week. Regular reading can have a great impact on children’s learning and confidence across the curriculum. This year, children will receive a small selection of books to read at their level from school for the week. These books can be changed on a weekly basis. Please check your child’s reading record for their allotted day to change their book.
