COMMITTED TO EXCELLENCE

Welcome to St. James’ CE Primary School

We are a school community that is ‘Committed to Excellence’ in all aspects of our work. We strive for the best possible academic outcomes for all children and deliver an engaging curriculum full of exciting opportunities. Most importantly, we work tirelessly with families to create children that we are proud to say are from St.James’. This website will provide you with an overview of our school, but would encourage prospective parents to visit our fantastic setting and see what makes St.James’ so special.

WHAT MAKES ST JAMES’ SPECIAL

Curriculum Icons

Curriculum

At St James’ CE Primary School we aim to provide the children with a curriculum which is broad, well balanced and above all
stimulates the children to learn.

In addition to acquiring skills
and knowledge, we aim to help the children to grow in confidence and maturity so that they can enter secondary school, and later, adulthood with the ability to pursue wholeheartedly, academic, social and cultural activities.

It is a curriculum which is both coherent and cohesive.

all children and deliver an engaging curriculum full of exciting opportunities which promote a life-long love of learning.

Most importantly, we work tirelessly with families to create independent learners who are adaptable, questioning, curious
and confident in their own ability to achieve their full potential, and children that we are proud to say are from St. James.

We celebrate achievement and individuality,

🌟 Honoring a Lifetime of Service 🌟

We are so proud of our students Mia (Year 5), Robyn (Year 6), and Eliza (Year 6) for being part of such a special community moment. Alongside Miss Lord, the children represented our school at the retirement service for Councillor Ashley Dearnley on Sunday at St Andrew's Church, Dearnley

It was a real privilege to witness the heartfelt warmth and thanks shared for Ashley’s incredible 44 years of public service. We heard touching tributes from local leaders and our very own Watergrove Trust Headteacher and Diocesan Director of Education Judith Rainford, highlighting a career built on decency, integrity, and courtesy.

A particular highlight was the powerful sermon by the Rt Rev Mark Davies, Bishop of Middleton.

A huge thank you to Reverend Rachel for a warm welcome and wonderful service.

Ashley, you have really made a difference to the community through your kindness and dedication. Thank you for everything. Everyone at St James' wishes you a wonderful retirement.
